No guesswork. Depending on the thickness of your eyelids (which varies by age), you will need a different core temperature, which is why there are multiple temperature settings. Although the core temperatures are hotter, the temperatures as they reach the glands are are 109F / 42.8C on the lowest setting and 115F / 46.1F on the highest setting.
